Data Literacy: Excel
Data Literacy is the ability to read, understand, interpret, and communicate data effectively. It involves knowing how to gather data, analyze it, and draw meaningful conclusions. People with strong data literacy can use data to make decisions, solve problems, and evaluate information critically in everyday life.
Student Monitoring Data: Attendance and health
This dataset provides insights into the health, attendance, and overall well-being of college students. It combines biometric data (stress levels, sleep patterns, anxiety, and mood scores) with class attendance information to assess the relationship between student health and academic performance. The dataset is designed for studying and analyzing factors that influence student engagement and risk levels in an educational setting.
This specific chart shows: Sleep Hours: The number of hours the student slept on the night before the class, reflecting the quality of rest. It shows that the students got the most amount of sleep mid-December which lines up with finals for most schools. However that could also be during the time right after finals which makes sense because after finals all us students need is SLEEP!!!
Critical Analysis
You will see in the last page that I am not too fond of the excel app. This app is the one that gave me the most trouble overall in this class and the last CSCI class that I have taken. Now that I have gotten the ability to use Excel more often, I have become way more confident and comfortable with the app. I have learned that many people use Excel to be able to work their Big Girl Jobs. This has come apparent to me from my accounting class! Excel will always be something that I can learn something new from. While this was something that I struggled with I am glad that I am now able to learn from this course what I wasn't able to learn from the last!
